When you put your faith in Jesus, God begins a deep inner transformation—forming in you a new identity that’s shaped by His love, not the world’s expectations. You may not see all the changes right away, but something beautiful is unfolding. As you let God fill you with the knowledge of His will and who He says you are, your new identity grows stronger—able to withstand life’s pressures, resist temptation, and rise into the life of purpose and beauty God created for you. A caterpillar—slow, earthbound, ordinary—spins a cocoon and disappears from view. From the outside, it looks like nothing is happening. But inside, a transformation is taking place. Cells reorganize. Old structures break down. And what emerges is a new creation: a butterfly, free to fly, radiant in color, utterly changed.

It’s one of God’s clearest pictures in nature of what it means to become new.

Too often, we try to change from the outside in. We tweak behaviors, adopt habits, or manage appearances, hoping it will lead to inner peace. But lasting transformation doesn’t start with effort—it starts with identity. Like the caterpillar, real change comes when something deep inside is redefined.

You are who God says you are.

Each week, we’ll look at a powerful truth from Scripture: a “You are ___” statement that reveals who you are because of what Jesus has done. These truths might seem simple at first glance. But if you slow down, reflect on them, and let them take root, they can reshape the way you see yourself—and how you live.

So I invite you to lean in. Let go of the false labels. Step out of the world’s definitions. Be honest with yourself. Do the inner work. And let God begin the transformation.
